Green Home, SEENET member from Montenegro, has organized a series of info days about Chapter 27 – environmental policy of EU, focusing on climate change. Between 11th and 18th of December, Info days were realized in three cities -Berane, Podgorica and Budva- each in one region of Montenegro.
Green Home tried to give people a closer look on how EU integration and implementation of Laws regarding environment and climate change influences everyday life. Citizens were offered the possibility of learning about climate change, its effects and the way to minimize and mitigate the negative ones. Brochures were distributed with information about nature protection, waste management and climate change.
Besides, the photo-exhibition “Climate is changing so should you“ illustrated the effects of climate change in Montenegro, some species and habitats that already suffer from it, campaigns and also some examples of activities that contribute to bad conditions. Also, for the youngest there were educational games in which they learned about climate change in a fun and interactive way.
The purpose of the Info days was to show that for preserving our planet, our country and our cities documents and laws are not enough. We are the ones that need to make changes.
To demonstrate what change means one segment was focused on the issues of waste and circular economy. So everybody that brought materials to recycle was offered an alternative as thermos and tote bags.
